Climbing the Steps of the Lourdes Grotto in Baguio City

After a healthy breakfast at Good Taste Restaurant, called a cab to take to the Lourdes Grotto. A catholic shrine and place of meditation which is located on a high hill in the western part of the city.
When I finally reached the foot of the stairs to the grotto, it's like I wouldn't want to climb it anymore..lol. It was so high! But well it's part of the plan so somehow did it. Climbing the steps is part of one sacrifice and offering to the Lady of Lourdes and it offers you an exceptional view of the whole Baguio City once you reach at the top of it. Tourist and local flock the shrine, even the rainy seasons. Prayers are offered candles from devotees and travelers seeking blessings, guidance and safe travel.

Lourdes  Grotto was constructed in commemoration to the numerous visions of the Virgen Mary by a 14 year old French girl named Bernadette Soubirous. This incident occurred between 11 February t o 16 July 1858 in the town of Lourdes, southwest France authorization of the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Lourdes Grotto is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Baguio City, especially for Catholics and it is located on a high hill and it takes 252 steps to get there.

  1. I miss the grotto. I was born and raised in Baguio but was never able to go back. It's been more than 20 years since I last saw the grotto.
